About Sahara Jan Kalyan Samiti

Since its establishment in 2004, Sahara Jan Kalyan Samiti has been consistently working to uplift marginalized and underserved communities through impactful grassroots interventions.
Every year, the organization supports approximately 100–200 underprivileged children by providing free school uniforms, textbooks, and educational materials, ensuring uninterrupted access to education.
To strengthen rural education, Sahara operates community-based mini libraries and provides free coaching classes, enabling students to build a better academic future.
The organization actively promotes agricultural awareness, environmental conservation, support for persons with disabilities, and livelihood skill development programs, empowering rural communities to become self-reliant.
A key focus area is women empowerment. Sahara has successfully formed and strengthened multiple Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by providing training in health, hygiene, and income-generating activities. Today, 50 to 150+ women-led groups are independently managing their livelihoods and sharing inspiring stories of transformation and self-reliance.
In the healthcare sector, Sahara has made a significant impact. Over the past three years, the organization has supported 1,000+ financially vulnerable patients, facilitating access to life-saving treatments. Through collective efforts and donor support, over INR 30 Crores have been mobilized to provide critical medical assistance — a mission that continues to grow and save lives every day.

Currently, with the support of national and international donors, Sahara is actively working in the areas of free education and the fight against malnutrition. Hundreds of children are being supported with nutritious food, clothing, uniforms, and basic essentials, while vulnerable women receive clothing, food grains, and essential support for their well-being.

Education for Underprivileged Children and Girls

We believe that education is the foundation of empowerment. Our programs focus on providing quality education to underprivileged children, especially girls, by supporting school enrollment, providing study materials, and creating child-friendly learning environments in rural and backward areas.

To bridge the healthcare gap in remote regions, we organize medical camps, raise awareness about hygiene, and provide basic health services to tribal and rural communities. We also partner with local health departments to extend services like vaccinations, maternal care, and disease prevention.

Our skill training centers empower youth and women with job-ready skills in tailoring, computer literacy, agriculture, and local crafts. These livelihood initiatives create self-reliant individuals who can earn a stable income and contribute to local economies.

We actively promote self-help groups (SHGs) where women unite for mutual support, microfinance, and income generation. Through regular capacity-building sessions and linkages with banks, we help rural women become financially independent and socially confident.

Our environmental projects focus on sustainable agriculture, water conservation, plantation drives, and eco-awareness campaigns. We encourage communities to adopt green practices and protect natural resources for future generations.

Children deserve a safe and nurturing environment. We run awareness drives on child rights, child labor, child marriage, and abuse prevention. Our outreach programs ensure that children are informed, protected, and given the opportunity to grow with dignity.

Through agricultural training, access to government schemes, and market linkages, we assist small and marginal farmers in increasing productivity and income. We also support daily wage laborers with skill diversification and welfare entitlements.

We promote inclusion by providing mobility aids, vocational training, and social support to persons with disabilities. Our aim is to ensure equal opportunities and remove barriers that prevent PwDs from living a dignified life.

We conduct workshops and street plays to educate the public on social issues such as health, sanitation, financial literacy, and gender equality. These initiatives strengthen community participation and create a sense of collective responsibility.

Regularly organized health check-ups, blood donation camps, and sanitation drives have become integral parts of our outreach. These activities promote preventive health, encourage hygiene practices, and ensure community well-being.
