Who we are
About Sahara Jan Kalyan Samiti
Sahara Jan Kalyan Samiti is a committed grassroots non-governmental organization established in 2004, dedicated to empowering marginalized and underserved communities across Madhya Pradesh, India.
Through integrated and community-driven interventions in healthcare, education, sanitation, and sustainable livelihoods, we strive to enhance the quality of life and promote inclusive and equitable development.
With a strong presence across multiple districts and a team of skilled and passionate professionals, Sahara works closely with local communities, institutions, and key stakeholders to build capacity, strengthen systems, and create sustainable, people-centered impact.
In the field of healthcare, we extend critical support to economically disadvantaged individuals by facilitating access to medical treatment through crowdfunding initiatives and FCRA-supported programs. We actively collaborate with hospitals and partner organizations to ensure timely, transparent, and life-saving assistance reaches those who need it the most.
Our work is centered on the most vulnerable sections of society—especially women and children—ensuring their access to fundamental rights, dignity, equality, and opportunities for a healthier and more secure future.
Vision
“We aim to build a world-class social development organization that uplifts communities by eliminating physical and mental suffering caused by rigid societal beliefs. We believe in social equality for all.”
Values
Quality: Striving for excellence through research, innovation, and continuous improvement in service delivery to marginalized individuals and communities.
Caring: Delivering all services with empathy and compassion, especially to the stigmatized, socially excluded, and vulnerable groups.
Philosophy: "The Tree"
Sahara draws its guiding philosophy from the symbolism of a tree — rooted, nurturing, and naturally evolving. The organization believes in:
Deeply rooted values like a tree’s strong foundation.
Volunteers as nurturing agents, not static trees — responsible for growth and protection of core principles.
Recognizing the role of selfless past efforts that allow others to enjoy present benefits — just as someone enjoys the shade of a tree planted long ago.
Glimpses of Hope: Sahara in Action
From rural health camps to classroom joy, from nutritional aid to community awareness — every image captures a story of transformation.
